SSPCT has initiated to establish an
Industrial Training Centre for
the promotion of rural youths. Initially the more wanted and
area related workmanship trades, FITTER, ELECTRICIAN AND
MECHANIC (MOTOR VEHICLE) trades are started in the year 1997
affiliated with the National Council for vocational Training
(NCVT). Since then the ITC has successfully gave employment
opportunities through its training to 120 rural youths and 12
rural young girls in these disciplines.
Moreover the SSPCT
in coordination with the district collectorate, Tiruvannamalai
had given training to 70 youths in Non-formal trainings through
the TRYSEM programme.
For the growing
opportunities in self employment the SSPCT has further
initiated to add the curriculums, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND
ELECTRONIC SYSTEM MAINTENANCE and STENOGRAPHY aiming at the
rural young girls.
Also the TRUST made
efforts to get the accreditation for Twenty four short term non
formal vocational courses from the NATIONAL OPEN SCHOOL,
Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
